We have built Bothan Jura Retreat as a space to unwind, reconnect and explore the wild landscapes of the Isle of Jura. For us as much as you.
Our four huts and cottage have exceptional views of the sea or Paps. The cottage and the Black and Rusty Huts have Swedish wood-fired hot tubs, and the cottage has a private sauna — and we run a mobile wood-fired sauna that pops up around the island.
Hand-picked books, board games, local walking guides, and Jura history in every bothan. We're on hand to help you get the most out of the island — or we can leave you well alone to rest, explore and reset at your own lazy pace.

Our converted horsebox is a wood-fired sauna and we’re taking it to the best bits of Jura. One session you’ll find us at Corran beach with the Paps behind you, the next we might be down in the village, or up the north end of Jura. The location changes, the views won’t disappoint.

On site we have a chilled, filtered ice barrel for cold water immersion; a large fire pit; bikes; a shared shed with a gym, table tennis, a library and a 10″ Dobsonian telescope; and a freezer stocked with local pies. Mrs Leonard's, the Black Hut and the Rusty Hut each have a Swedish wood-fired hot tub; every unit has its own pizza oven, and the cottage has its own private sauna.

Our story
The Isle of Jura, in Scotland's Hebrides, is one of Europe's last great wildernesses, battered by Atlantic storms, warmed by the Gulf Stream, with 250 people, 5,000 deer and one road. Orwell came here to write 1984. Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty came here to burn a million pounds. We came here to reset our lives.
